Group for Learning in Art and Design
We organised this international conference on behalf of the Group for Learning in Art and Design. Delegates were invited to a weeklong event to explore the student experience in art and design. We published records of the discussions from the conference in a book in 2008.i

The UK National Screening Committee asked us to work with stakeholders and parents to develop a leaflet explaining the newborn examinations. The leaflet has been incorporated into the NSC's parent information booklet given to all new parents throughout England.

The Department of Health asked us to write, design and print a landmark report on behalf of the four countries of the UK to set the direction for modern nursing careers. Working with a small group, we developed the report and liaised with all four countries to provide individual reports.

The Widening Participation in Learning Strategy Unit was established in 2005 and we have worked with them to develop a house style which is readily identifiable. The Department of Health and the National Clinical Assessment Service jointly hosted an expert group to define good practice in handling performance concerns among professional staff. We worked with the expert group to bring together and edit the text of this important publication and designed and published the booklet. Working with the Department of Health, we researched, wrote and published a guide for nurses who work with people with long term conditions. Silicone gel breast implants: the report of the Independent Review Group
The Medical Devices Agency invited us to write, edit, design and print this important report for clinicians, scientists, manufacturers and the general public. We synthesised large amounts of information, planned the structure of the report and wrote it in suitable language for the varied audiences. We developed a design so that complex information was accessible to a range of readers. The report set a new standard for writing and presentation of complex information.

Liberating the talents: helping PCTs and nurses to deliver the NHS Plan
When the Department of Health wanted to produce an exciting new guide for primary care trusts, we worked with them to write, design and produce over 40,000 copies of a guide to provide PCTs and frontline staff with a new framework for planning and delivering nursing services. The guide includes over 60 examples of innovation.

We worked with the Department of Health's Breast Implants Patient Information Advisory Group to write an information leaflet for people considering breast implants. We wrote and edited the text, responded to consultation comments and liaised with the designers.
