Open
learning
We work with
clients to develop accessible and professional educational resources
and open learning materials. We have produced a wide variety
of open learning materials, educational resources and examples of good
practice. Here
are some examples of the resources we have produced.
Screening Choices: A resource for health professionals offering antenatal and newborn care |
|
Working with the Homerton School of Health Studies, we were commissioned by the UK National Screening Committee to research, write, coordinate, design and publish a resource and training programme focusing on informed choice in antenatal and newborn care. The result is an exciting interactive programme which has been hugely popular throughout England. Presented in a web-style format, the programme consists of seven units, practice-based activities, case studies, references, live web links, workbooks, a trainers' resource pack and a toolbox with a wealth of relevant information. Health visitors and school nurses development programme: toolkits |
|
We
worked with the Department of Health to develop innovative
toolkits for health visitors and school nurses. JRA were responsible
for project management, editorial development, liaison with the
working group and steering group, development of design concepts
and design of both toolkits. The toolkits focus on new ways of working
to achieve the Government's modernisation agenda for the health
service.

Preparation
of supervisors of midwives |
|
JRA
were commissioned by the ENB and the Nursing and Midwifery
Council to prepare the first, second and third editions of this
highly successful open learning resource. We worked with experts
to identify the major changes needed to develop and subsequently
to bring the resource up-to-date. The resource consists of four
independent but related modules and is intended for use by individuals
and groups.

The
Solihull Approach: the resource pack |
|
With
Solihull NHS Primary Care Trust we developed an open learning
resource pack for healthcare professionals working with families
with children under five years of age. We were responsible for project
management, editorial development, liaison with the working group,
open learning writing, developmental testing, design and production
of the resource. The resource includes handouts for professionals
and for parents. Following this we were commissioned to prepare
a Trainers' Pack to support the use of the Solihull Approach, a resource for professionals working with school aged children, and a complete revision of the pack for professionals working with children aged 0–5. We are working on a course for parents, based on the Solihull Approach principles. For more information, see: http://www.solihullkids.co.uk
