Grey College, Durham University, Durham, UK is a firm favourite with delegates. Grey College is within walking distance of Durham City Centre. Durham is in the north east of England about 250 miles from London. The conference centre accommodation is very comfortable, all rooms have en-suite facilities and include coffee and tea making facilities, a hairdryer and towels.

Travelling to Durham

By road

Grey College is only 10 minutes from the AI(M). There is ample free parking.

By rail

Durham is on the main London to Edinburgh line. Trains leave London King's Cross to Durham every hour at about half past the hour and the journey takes just under three hours. There are taxis at Durham station and it is about 5 - 10 minutes from there to Grey College and costs about �3.00.

By air

Newcastle-upon-Tyne is the nearest airport. There are regular trains between Newcastle airport and Durham, although you will need to change trains at Newcastle City station. You could take a taxi from the airport to Durham, this will cost between about �45 - �50.

From Gatwick or Heathrow airports, you can travel by train to Durham from London King's Cross station in central London. Information about travelling from other airports is available from the BAA website.

To reach London King's Cross from Heathrow, take the underground train direct to King's Cross on the Piccadilly Line. This will cost about �3.60 for the journey to King's Cross and tickets can be bought from the ticket office at the underground station in Heathrow. You should allow at least one hour to travel from Heathrow to King's Cross when planning which train to take onwards to Durham.

From Gatwick Airport there is an express train link to Victoria station in central London. This leaves every 15 minutes between 5.00am and midnight then every hour, the journey takes about half an hour. From Victoria station you could take a taxi, or the underground (Victoria Line), to King's Cross station to travel to Durham.
