Conference programme and links
We are currently planning the programme for next year's NET conference and this will be available soon.
The content of the NET2011 conference will be a rich mix of keynote presentations, workshops/masterclasses, symposia, an exhibition and posters, together with core and theme presentations chosen from the call for abstracts.
The NET conference philosophy is unique: delegates select theme sessions to attend and remain with each session to enjoy the continuity of the debate. You can choose two theme sessions which are most relevant to your interests. By staying within your session with the same group of people you will enjoy more in-depth discussion than is usually found at more traditional conferences.
This year’s conference theme groups are:

If you are interested in submitting an abstract for a core presentation, theme presentation, symposium or poster please see further information on the call for abstracts page.
Core presentations Each theme group starts with the presentation of a core paper which is academically rigorous and sets the scene for the theme. This is followed by the theme presentations.
Theme presentations
Whether or not you have presented at the NET conference before, this section may well be helpful to you. It gives you some ideas that might make your presentation participative and interactive.
Give a brief introduction to your paper Extract the key points from your paper and present these as bullet points Engage with the participants in a way that suits your presentation style Draw your presentation to a close by giving an appropriate summary of lessons learnt and implications for healthcare education and practice.
Student Presentations The NET2011 Organising Committee actively encourages papers from pre-registration students, particularly under the ‘Student Experience’ theme. This is an ideal opportunity for students to share their ideas in theme group sessions in a supportive and inclusive environment. Please ensure when submitting your abstract that it is marked for the 'student abstract award'.
For the winning pre-registration student abstract submission we are delighted to offer: one free place at NET2011 travel expenses up to £500
We are also able to offer a number of assisted places for students on a first-come, first-served basis.
First-time presenter prize The NET2011 Organising Committee are delighted to award a first-time presenter prize. This is an ideal opportunity for those who have not presented at ANY conference before to present a paper in a supportive environment. This must be the presenter’s first-ever presentation at any conference.
The award criteria are: academic content, presentation skills, ability to engage the audience and respond to questions.
Please ensure when submitting your abstract that it is marked ‘first-time presenter’. There will not be another opportunity to indicate you are a first-time presenter.
Symposia Symposia presentations have now become a permanent feature of the NET programme. You will have an opportunity to join your choice of symposia. Each symposium will consist of a number of linked presentations on a single, leading edge topic and will give presenters and participants the time to explore a contemporary issue in depth. This is an ideal opportunity to explore a leading edge topic that might not be addressed by this year’s conference themes.
Posters A wide range of posters cover topical and emerging issues regarding the future of healthcare education. Posters will be displayed in the main tea and coffee area and authors will present their posters at key times.
There will be a special prize, kindly donated by Elsevier, for the best poster as voted for by delegates. The following criteria should be taken into account when voting:
The contribution the poster makes to healthcare education Clarity of purpose and message Accuracy and quality of content Presentation and impact Innovation in design.
